Key resources include: The National Archives, Stanford History Education Group's Reading Like a Historian, Google Earth, iCivics, the Constitution app, and the Venn Diagram app by the International Reading Association. Homework this week includes an assignment on TED Ed (TED Talks for Education), and is due on Monday, March 24th. Exciting news in 8th Grade...
We recently were informed from the educators at TED ED (TED Talks for Education) that one of the flipped lessons that we created (including a video selected by one of our very own students) will be featured as a "Select" video on the TED ED website. The educators at TED ED are currently editing the lesson. Once we approve their edits, the lesson will be included on their website as a "Best Flip" for other teachers and students to use! Stay posted for more information.
This week in 8th grade classes, students are learning about World War I by exploring topics of interest to them, and creating a presentation about that topic via a menu of apps. Students are using the following resources: The BBC WWI iWonder Guide, WWI app, Flowboard app, Storehouse app, Rap app by Smule, and others. Homework this week is listed on Edmodo and includes the BBC iWonder Guide for WWI. The homework is due March 26th.
